Liverpool Prepare £37.6m January Bid For Osimhen’s Teammate

Liverpool are reportedly stepping up their interest in Galatasaray defender Wilfried Singo ahead of the January transfer window.

The Reds are said to be preparing a package worth up to £37.6m as they look to reinforce their defence.

Singo only joined Galatasaray in the summer after a £27m move from Monaco, signing a five-year deal.

Despite injuries disrupting his early months in Turkey, the 24-year-old has still produced several eye-catching performances across seven starts and three substitute appearances.

The Ivory Coast international impressed heavily when Galatasaray beat Liverpool 1-0 in the Champions League in September, putting in a dominant defensive display against Cody Gakpo.

His versatility — operating both at right-back and centre-back — has made him one of the most talked-about defenders in Europe this season.

Reds ‘expected’ to submit official offer

Reports from Foot-Sur7 and Fotomac, via Sport Witness, claim Liverpool are “getting serious” about signing Singo.

The club are expected to table an offer of €28m (£24.5m) plus €10m-€15m (£8.7m-£13.1m) in add-ons.

Early negotiations have reportedly taken place, with confidence growing that a deal can be struck in January, reports Sports Mole.

Arsenal and Manchester United are also believed to have scouted Singo recently, with all three clubs monitoring him during Galatasaray’s 3-0 win over Ajax in the Champions League.

Liverpool’s plans for the winter window focus on strengthening the defence amid ongoing uncertainty around Mohamed Salah’s future.

With injuries affecting both Conor Bradley and Jeremie Frimpong, the appeal of a versatile defender like Singo is clear for Arne Slot’s side.
