Liverpool, Man City And Chelsea Set For Huge Transfer Battle For Belgian Star

Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester City are reportedly set for an intense transfer battle for PSV Eindhoven winger, Johan Bakayoko.

Numerous elite teams in Europe, including Premier League teams, have expressed interest in the Belgian forward. When Brentford made a £35 million bid for Bakayoko in January, the deal nearly took place. But it fell through when PSV rejected the offer.

According to Daily Express, Liverpool, City, and Chelsea are interested in signing the 20-year-old this summer. But they will probably have competition from Paris Saint-Germain and Borussia Dortmund.

With 8 goals and 13 assists in 40 games, Bakayoko has had yet another outstanding season in Holland. Bakayoko does not have a release clause in his contract, which keeps him at PSV until 2027, so this could prove to be a substantial acquisition.

According to the same report, the current Eredivisie table toppers might ask for as much as £51 million in exchange for giving up their highly valued asset.

However, if a bidding war breaks out, Premier League clubs may have to pay even more. The highly-regarded 20-year-old, who has already earned nine senior caps for Belgium, is considered by many to be among the best prospects in Europe.

A plethora of attacking players are being linked to Liverpool as rumors that Mohamed Salah may be leaving for Saudi Arabia at the end of the season are growing.

The Reds expect their resolve to be put to the test once more after turning down a stunning £175 million offer in the summer.
