Liverpool board set to disappoint Klopp over Thiago Alcantara plans

Liverpool and Bayern Munich have hit a deadlock over negotiations for Thiago Alcantara.

Kicker says Reds boss Jurgen Klopp is a massive fan of the player but Anfield chiefs are unwilling to budge in their current transfer stance.

Bayern have priced the midfielder at £27m as they look to move him on with one year on his contract.

The Spaniard has told the Bavarians that he is keen on a new challenge and will not be extending his stay in Germany.

And Thiago has eyed a move to Liverpool but the Reds are not going ahead with a transfer.

The Premier League champions have an interest in the playmaker.

But Liverpool are strapped for cash amid the coronavirus crisis, with chiefs looking to save money rather than spend it.

There are also concerns over Thiago’s age at 29 and his injury record, which has been not great in Germany.
