Liverpool have made a decision about their next transfer target after beating Newcastle United to the signing of winger Victor Munoz.
The Osasuna winger was strongly linked to Newcastle, but on Wednesday, June 17, rumours surfaced that Liverpool would sign the 22-year-old after activating his €40 million (£34.6 million) release clause.
The winger, who can play on either flank and is now a member of Spain’s World Cup team, is anticipated to sign a six-year contract with Liverpool; the club’s medical team is currently in the United States.
Munoz scored seven goals and provided five assists in all competitions helping the side escape relegation in La Liga last season.

The 22-year-old was a youth player for both Real Madrid and Barcelona before making two professional appearances for Los Blancos.
Munoz will be the first player signed by Andoni Iraola, and the Reds will now focus on their continued pursuit of left winger Yan Diomande of Ivory Coast and RB Leipzig.
Liverpool have been interested in Diomande for a while, and Paris Saint-Germain are also interested in the 19-year-old.

He said: “Also, important to mention, many Liverpool fans have been asking me after I dropped this bomba on my channels if this means the deal closes the door to signing another winger. So, the winger wanted by Liverpool was Victor Munoz.
Speaking on his YouTube channel, transfer specialist, Fabrizio Romano claimed Liverpool intend to bring at least one more winger this summer amid the Munoz move nearly sealed.
“My answer is no. My answer is that, in the plan of Richard Hughes, they are doing an excellent job. Richard Hughes and Michael Edwards are planning their signings and keeping things secret until we have the exclusive bomba like today.
“But they are working behind the scenes also to add at least one more winger to the squad.”
