Lionel Messi Threatened By Mexican Boxer After Win Against Mexico

After accusing the famed player of insulting the Mexican flag, Canelo Alvarez, a multiple world boxing champion, has sensationally threatened Lionel Messi.

On Saturday, Messi turned in a Man of the Match performance as Argentina defeated Mexico 2-0 in the 2022 World Cup.

The 35-year-old, who is widely regarded as the greatest footballer of all time, gave Argentina a 1-0 lead with a spectacular goal from outside the box.

Thereafter, he assisted Enzo Fernandez to further increase the South American’s lead.

After suffering a shock 2-1 defeat to Saudi Arabia last week, this was a game the reigning Copa America holders simply had to win.

Footage subsequently emerged of Argentina’s euphoric dressing room celebrations.

Alvarez reacted to one particular video of Argentina’s celebrations by accusing Messi of disrespecting a Mexico shirt or flag.

In a series of tweets, per the Daily Mail, Alvarez wrote: “Did you guys see Messi cleaning the floor with our jersey and flag.

“He better pray to God that I don’t find him. Just like I respect Argentina, he has to respect Mexico!

“I’m not talking about the country as a whole, just about the bulls**t that Messi did.”

Considering Messi has caused so little controversy throughout his illustrious career, it’s hard to imagine that his intention was to disrespect Mexico

Buzzing after Argentina’s win, it appears that he was simply trying to take off his boots and ended up kicking the Mexico shirt in the process, seemingly unintentionally.
