Kylian Mbappe Responds To Emiliano Martinez World Cup Taunts

Kylian Mbappe has responded to taunts from Argentina goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez after a successful return to action with Paris Saint-Germain.

Mbappe returned to club action less than two weeks after France lost in the World Cup final to Argentina.

Mbappe was questioned about Argentina goalkeeper Martinez after scoring an injury-time penalty to help PSG beat Strasbourg in Ligue 1.

Martinez has been relentless in his taunting and goading of Mbappe since Argentina’s victory earlier this month, despite the fact that the Frenchman actually put four past the Albiceleste shot-stopper on the day if his penalty in the shoot-out is included.

The Aston Villa goalkeeper was caught on video sarcastically asking for a minute’s silence for Mbappe, before holding a doll with the forward’s face taped on the front on the open tup bus parade back in Argentina.

“Celebrations are not my problem,” the 23-year-old said in a classy response after PSG’s 2-1 win. “They are not my problem. I don’t have the energy to waste on such futile things, the important thing for me is to give the best of myself for my club.”

“I’ll never digest it. But like I told my coach and teammates, there’s no reason that my club should pay for a defeat with my national team, it’s two different situations.

Mbappe also spoke about his upcoming reunion with Argentina captain Lionel Messi at Parc des Princes, as quoted by Goal saying: “We will wait for Leo to come back to continue scoring and winning games. I spoke with him after the final, I congratulated him. It was the quest of a lifetime for him, for me too, but I failed, so you always have to be a good sport.”
