Koulibaly Issues Warning To Arsenal, Makes Bold Delcaration

With Chelsea, Kalidou Koulibaly has vowed to “write history” and dethrone Arsenal as the Premier League’s top team.

The two clubs will square off this weekend with the Gunners in first place and almost ten points ahead of the Blues, who are currently in sixth place following a devastating loss at Brighton.

Koulibaly commented on Arsenal’s early lead in the table during an interview with Corriere della Sera in Italy, saying, “It will be Chelsea at the end of the season, I want to write history here.”

What Koulibaly Feels About Chelsea

The 31-year-old Senegalese defender admitted that, before joining Chelsea, he sought the counsel of Gianfranco Zola and Didier Drogba, two club icons.

Koulibaly now understands why he was warned to expect a rollercoaster experience at Stamford Bridge after witnessing Graham Potter replace Thomas Tuchel in the dugout.

“This is the beauty of football,” he added. “I arrive with a coach who wanted me at all costs, and then he leaves.

“Both Tuchel and Potter play with the three-man defences, I was used to a four with Napoli.

“It’s another string to my bow, you never stop learning. I knew I was going to have a hard time, and that’s proved true. Even Zola and Drogba had anticipated that for me.”
