Klopp Hints At Sadio Mane Transfer Move Amid Liverpool Return Links

Due to the Saudi Pro-League’s “massive influence” on transfers, Jurgen Klopp has hinted that Sadio Mane might be moving to Saudi Arabia.

The Liverpool manager was pressed for comment on the future of his former forward, who has already called time on his Bayern Munich stay after just one season at the Allianz Arena.

While recently in Dubai, Mane talked about his unsuccessful season and admitted that he wishes things had turned out differently for him while playing for the Bundesliga’s top team.

Though his transfer to the Saudi club Al-Nassr has not yet been formally announced, it is believed that Mane is presently in the Middle East doing the first part of his medical before he is scheduled to sign a four-year contract that will see him earn a rumored £650,000 per-week.

Discussing Mane’s fortunes at Bayern and the forward’s next chapter, Klopp told reporters: “I don’t know what went wrong.

“When he left us, he left us on a high and in really good shape, a world-class player. New environment, new expectations maybe. I didn’t speak to Sadio about it.

“Sadio is a very proud man. We will see. The Saudi influence (on transfers) is massive, it is influential for us but we will have to deal with it.”

Mane himself could not deny things had gone poorly with Bayern, telling Sky Sports: “Leaving FC Bayern hurts me, I would have wished for a different ending.

“I know that I could have helped the team this season. I wanted to prove it to everyone this season,” the Senegal international continued.

“Nevertheless, I only wish the club and the fans the best for the future.”
