Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp has allayed fears over the potential injury lay-off of new Reds midfielder, Ryan Gravenberch after he limped off on his full debut for his new club.
Klopp gave Gravenberch his first start in a Liverpool jersey in their UEFA Europa League opener on Thursday.
The Reds ran out 3-1 winners over Austrian outfit, LASK. Goals from Darwin Nunez, Luis Diaz and Mohamed Salah ensured the Merseyside club won their first game in Group E. With the Dutchman providing the assist for Diaz’s sumptuous strike.
However, Liverpool fans expressed alarm when they witnessed the 21-year-old hesitantly making his way off the field while being replaced. Klopp, however, maintains that the issue was merely a cramp and not a major one.
‘(He played) very good, he told me he had cramp so that makes sense,’ said the Liverpool manager on TNT Sports.
‘It was his first start for a while I think and he did really well.
“For a long time he was the best player on the pitch. And in the first-half frustration grew a little bit and you saw him getting lost a little bit, you know, “where is he?”.

‘But that’s normal these things happen. But he stayed in the game as long as he could and had really good moments. Set up a good goal for Luis Diaz and for not knowing a lot about his team-mates it looked pretty tuned,’ added Klopp.
The positive news provided by Klopp indicates that Gravenberch could be in line to make the squad on Sunday as Liverpool host West Ham United in the Premier League.
