Bayern Munich Engage In ‘Transfer Poker’ To Try To Land Newcastle United Star Kieran Trippier

Newcastle United has been instructed to turn down any contact for Kieran Trippier from Bayern Munich.

Ever since he joined Eddie Howe’s team in January 2022 after leaving Atletico Madrid, Trippier has been a standout performer. Newcastle’s Champions League qualification from the previous season was largely due to his leadership and ability to create opportunities from full back.

Bayern Munich is interested in signing Trippier as a right-back, despite the player’s recent decline in play. Trippier has impressed with Newcastle. Nevertheless, despite rumors that Bayern midfielder Joshua Kimmich would leave the team, Sky Sports analysts have stated that it doesn’t make sense for the team to pay up for the 33-year-old.

“I don’t think he will go. Why would they let him go? He’s not going to bring in a lot of money,” former Spurs boss Tim Sherwood told Sky Sports News. “If they’re going to need to sell players, they’d need to sell a Bruno Guimaraes or an [Alexander] Isak. They won’t want to lose any of them.

What Bayern Munich going to pay for Kieran?

“What are Bayern Munich going to pay for Kieran? Nothing, really, in the scheme of things. It’s not going to help their financial fair play situations. I wouldn’t sell this boy, I think he’s a leader. A top, top player, even though he makes mistakes, and a genuine character.”

“It’s good for both teams. Let me tell you, Kimmich is a player, but I don’t think he’s going anywhere,” Morrison said. ”He’s one of their best midfielders, originally a right-back, but he’s made that [position] his own.

“With the injuries they’ve got, you’re not going to leave yourself with one recognised full-back in Livramento. You still need Trippier. I know in the last few games it hasn’t been the Trippier that we saw at the start of the season but he’s still a magnificent full-back.

“But will he want to go? That’s the big question because Bayern Munich is a hell of a club and they are getting the old gang back together.”
