Kane: We had trouble when Nigeria changed formation

England skipper Harry Kane has admitted that their 2-1 win over Nigeria in Saturday evening’s friendly was not a walk in the park.

The Tottenham Hotspur goal machine fired in a low shot in the 39th minute to give England a 2-0 lead following a defensive blunder by Eddy Onazi.

Reacting to the win, Kane was quoted as saying by thefa.com : ”It was a good win against a tough side. [In the] first half I thought we were excellent.

”We moved the ball quickly and got in behind them and created a lot of chances.

”In the second half we had trouble when they changed their formation early on – that always puts the pressure on.

”But then we kept the ball better and got used to their formation and in the end, saw the game out well.

”I feel at my best, definitely. It’s great to score – getting on the scoresheet is always nice for a striker.”

Kane exchanged jerseys with his former teammate at the Tottenham Hotspur Academy, William Troost-Ekong, after the game.
