Juventus director Paratici refuses to rule out Pogba return

Juventus director Fabio Paratici has hinted at making a move for their former star Paul Pogba as his Manchester United struggles continue.

Pogba departed Turin in an £89million move to United in the summer of 2016, which was then a world-record transfer fee, after emerging as one of the most talented players in the game with the Serie A giants.

However, Pogba has come under immense criticism throughout his time at Old Trafford due to his inconsistent performances and failing to live up to expectations following his mega-money move.

Pogba has continuously flirted with a move away from Manchester – with both Real Madrid and a return to Juventus his most likely destinations.

And Juve’s sporting director, while claiming transfer targets aren’t a priority at present, has hailed the French World Cup winner for his incredible service during his time at the club.

Paratici told Sky Sport Italia: ‘As for Pogba, right now he is a Manchester United player and it is far too early to think about future transfer targets.

‘We all care for Pogba here, one of many ex-players who gave Juve so much, but it’s too early to talk about future objectives.

‘We are concentrated on constructing this team for this season, that is where our focus lies.’

Pogba rose to fame with Juventus, scoring 34 goals and producing 40 assists in 178 appearances for the club between 2012 and 2016.

During his time in Turin, the 27-year-old won four Serie A titles in a row and two consecutive Coppa Italias.

However, his second spell at Old Trafford has been a far cry from his Juventus days and he once again came in for huge criticism for his display last weekend against Arsenal.

Pogba gave away a penalty after fouling Hector Bellerin, before Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang duly converted from the penalty spot.

His game-time at United has been limited this season and he was once again used as an impact substitute in the 2-1 defeat against Istanbul Basaksehir on Wednesday evening in the Champions League.
