Jurgen Klopp May Make Four Changes Due To A Player’s Return After A Six-week Absence

According to Liverpool World, When Liverpool visits Brentford on Saturday (12.30 GMT), they have the opportunity to temporarily extend their lead over the other teams in the Premier League by five points.

After defeating Burnley 3-1 last time out, the Reds have a full week to get ready for the Bees.

In order to increase the number of players available, Jurgen Klopp may have to make multiple selections. Here’s an early peek at some of the queries the Liverpool manager is fielding before the team travels to Brentford.

In place of the injured Alisson Becker, Caoimhin Kelleher played a superb position between the posts. Alisson’s recuperation from not being able to eat or sleep prior to the game will be crucial. The Brazil international will return to goalkeeping if he recovers from his illness.

Alterations in the rearguard may also be in the works. Joe Gomez, who missed the Clarets match due to illness, could step in if the vice captain is unable to play. Gomez was an excellent left-back cover for Andy Robertson and Kostas Tsimikas.

Additionally, Conor Bradley could make a comeback. During Alexander-Arnold’s absence, the 20-year-old was outstanding; his first Liverpool goal and two assists in a 4-1 thumping of Chelsea were the highlights. But Bradley has returned to his family in Northern Ireland following the tragic death of his father.

The France international is Jarell Quansah’s backup at center back and has been Virgil van Dijk’s first choice. After a shoulder injury, Andy Robertson made his first start in four months. Against Burnley, he settled into the game and will now look to gain momentum.

After Japan’s return from the Asian Cup, Wataru Endo gave a performance as if he had never been away. He arrived from Stuttgart in the summer and had a slow start to his Anfield career, but he has since settled in nicely.

Curtis Jones conducted himself as he usually does this season: effectively and efficiently. Though many feel that a more advanced role is where Alexis Mac Allister excels, he was unable to fully seize the opportunity. The Argentina international helped lead his nation to World Cup victory in 2022 and was a formidable attacking threat for Brighton.

Conversely, Harvey Elliott, who entered the game at halftime, had a barnstorming impact, setting up both of Liverpool’s goals in the second half. This season, the 20-year-old has mostly been used as a substitute, but Klopp might think Elliott has produced enough to start.

With Ryan Gravenberch having suffered a minor injury during the warm-up against Burnley, Liverpool will be hoping he can start on the bench.

It’s possible that Mo Salah will play again for the Reds. The 18-goal winger sustained his hamstring injury during Egypt’s participation in the African Cup of Nations, and it has kept him out of action for the better part of four weeks. Salah hasn’t appeared on the field for Liverpool since New Year’s Day, but he may return to the practice this week. If he gets the all-clear to play, a bench spot is most likely in store.

It’s hard to see any of the three players being benched considering that Darwin Nunez, Luis Diaz, and Diogo Jota all scored against Burnley.

Alisson, Gomez, van Dijk, Konate, Robertson, Endo, Jones, Elliott, Jota, Nunez, and Diaz could be Liverpool’s lineup against Brentford.
