Darwin, the striker for Liverpool, may be refuting the theory of evolution, but Jurgen Klopp still has complete faith in his player.
According to Mirror, Darwin Nunez became the first Premier League player to hit the woodwork four times since records began 20 years ago on a very Darwin night against Chelsea.
Before he delivered by setting up Luis Diaz for Liverpool’s game-winning fourth goal in the convincing victory over Chelsea, he missed a penalty and an easy header. Nunez currently has 11 goals and 11 assists, making him the first player in Europe’s top five leagues to record double figures in both categories. Nunez is a star from Uruguay.
“Why do we talk about Darwin?” asked the manager of Liverpool. “Because he misses so many things in so many circumstances. Since we started keeping track, this is the first game in which a player has struck the woodwork four times in a row. Imagine yourself in his shoes for a moment.
He was visibly disappointed and upset with himself at halftime after missing a penalty. He then misses the header from close range, but he continues to play and sets up a goal for us.

“It’s just crazy that he creates that many chances. Imagine for a second if he took them all, his numbers would be absolutely insane. We need to win football games and he’s already scored goals and set them up in a really important moment. Take the fourth goal, 3-2 or 4-1, there’s a big difference and that makes him the player he is for us.”
