Jules Kounde Backs Teammate Robert Lewandowski After Bayern Loss

Jules Kounde thinks that Robert Lewandowski was unlucky not to score for Barcelona in their 2-0 loss to Bayern Munich on Tuesday.

At the Allianz Arena, Lewandowski wasted many crucial opportunities to score against his former team. This was especially in the first half while Barcelona still had the momentum.

Bayern turned the game around after the break to win 2-0 against Barcelona.

Since moving from Barcelona to Munich in the summer, the Polish attacker has scored nine goals. However, it was an unenjoyable night for him against his former team.

What Did Kounde Say About Lewandowski?

Speaking after the match, Kounde said: “Next time, Lewandowski will score the chances he missed today.

“We competed very well. It’s about details. What we lacked are goals.

“We got a little lost in the corner, and conceded a second goal shortly after.

“We are frustrated with the result but we have to keep working.

“It is a pity that we conceded 2 in such a short span of time. However, we must continue to grow and keep going.”

It was not the homecoming Lewandowski would have wanted, but he has the chance to get back to scoring ways against Elche on Saturday.

He’ll undoubtedly be keeping an eye on Bayern’s game against Camp Nou on October 26.
