Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford is reportedly close to agreeing to a new long-term contract with the Merseyside club.
Pickford has made 222 appearances for Everton since joining the club from Sunderland in the summer of 2017.
With less than 18 months left on his current contract, there has been much speculation about his future at Goodison Park.
Pickford has piqued the curiosity of several Premier League clubs, including Chelsea, Manchester United, and Tottenham Hotspur.
According to recent reports, talks over a new Everton deal have reached a snag over the goalkeeper’s requested wage.
However, Everton manager Sean Dyche reportedly urged the team to prioritize reaching a new contract with the England number one.
According to The Times, great progress has been made in negotiations, and Pickford is reportedly expected to sign a new contract until 2027.
Pickford, who helped Everton avoid relegation last season, was always intended to stay with the Merseyside club.
The new contract is thought to be worth £35 m and does not include a relegation clause that would allow him to leave if Everton were dropped to the Championship.
Pickford has appeared in 22 of Everton’s 23 Premier League games this season, keeping two clean sheets in Dyche’s first three games in charge.

Speaking before Saturday’s home match against Aston Villa, Dyche asserted that Pickford’s new deal shows his satisfaction with the “new regime.”
Everton are hoping to sign a new contract with Alex Iwobi, who is out of contract in June 2024, now that Pickford’s long-term future is guaranteed.
The Toffees are 16th in the Premier League rankings, one point above the relegation zone.
