Joe Hart set for medical ahead of West Ham loan switch

England goalkeeper Joe Hart will have a medical on Monday before completing a season-long loan deal with West Ham.

Hart has been told he can find another club by Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola after spending last season at Torino.

It is anticipated City will fund part of Hart’s wages and the agreement will include an option for West Ham to buy the 30-year-old.

Hart’s City contract is not set to expire until 2019.

The 30-year-old spent last season on loan with Serie A side Torino, having been deemed surplus to requirements at Manchester City following the arrival of Guardiola.

City signed Claudio Bravo as their presumed number one ‘keeper following Guardiola’s arrival and this summer they have added Brazilian Ederson to their goalkeeping ranks.

Hammers were hoping to finalise the deal for Hart within the next few days, while Hammers boss Slaven Bilic said recently that he was expecting imminent reinforcements.

“What we want is to bring in the quality that is going to improve our first XI,” said Bilic.

“We have (former Manchester City defender) Pablo Zabaleta and I am really expecting to add a couple more soon.”
