Jamie Carragher’s dream was granted when Liverpool defeated Inter Milan without Mohamed Salah.
The 33-year-old was conspicuously omitted from Liverpool’s Champions League squad for the trip to San Siro, following a frightening interview after the Reds’ 3-3 draw with Leeds on Saturday. Salah said the club abandoned him and that he had no relationship with manager Arne Slot.
former Liverpool player Carragher reacted strongly to Salah’s comments on Sky Sports‘ Monday Night Football, calling the forward a “disgrace” and accusing him and his agency of arranging the situation to cause maximum disruption.

Carragher also said that Salah was aiming to have Slot sacked. Then, on Tuesday, in response to Salah’s social media post, Carragher admitted that he hadn’t wanted Liverpool to “win a game more than tonight for a long time.”
And Liverpool did not disappoint Carragher, securing a 1-0 victory at Inter with Dominik Szoboszlai netting the crucial penalty. After Florian Wirtz was fouled inside the box, Szoboszlai confidently dispatched the ball past Yann Sommer from 12 yards.
Sharing his post-match thoughts, Carragher retweeted his earlier post and exclaimed: “Get in,” accompanied by a flexed biceps emoji and the red love heart emoji.
“Mo has told me, ‘I love this football club. I don’t want to leave this club. This is where I want to be.’ He wants to be a Liverpool player, but he wants to play.
“I think they will have a conversation. I can’t speak for Mo, and what he is going to do, I don’t know how he is going to feel, but I think there needs to be another conversation between the manager and Mohamed Salah.”
