Ian Wright Gives Plain Response To Liverpool’s Top Four Challenge

You “can’t trust Liverpool,” Ian Wright claimed. Further casting question on their potentials to qualify for the UEFA Champions League.

The Reds were defeated 1-0 by subpar Bournemouth last weekend, which puts roadblock in their chances of getting into the top four.

Before the encounter, it has been an  impressive five games unbeaten streak for Jurgen Klopp’s team. Which had been bolstered by their 7-0 rout of Manchester United, came to an end with their seventh away loss in the English Premier League.

The Reds’ slump at the south coast was exploited by their rivals as Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur returned to winning ways. Displacing the Reds to sixth place.

Despite Casemiro being dismissed in the first half, relegation threatening Southampton managed to hold off Manchester United.

As long as Liverpool’s form remains patchy, the former Arsenal forward thinks Harry Kane will make the difference in the race to earn a spot in the competition for next season.

The striker scored twice for Spurs against Nottingham Forest.

What Did Ian Wright Say About Liverpool?

“I think Tottenham are going to be okay simply because they have got Harry Kane,” said Wright speaking to Premier League Productions. “He’s going to score goals.

“You look at Newcastle. They are missing chances. Yes, they scored a couple and it was good for them, but they will have to do that with their two games in hand. They have to score goals. I can’t see Tottenham not scoring goals.

“You can’t trust them. You can’t trust Liverpool. At the moment, whoever I am, playing against Liverpool, then I would have a go.

“What it comes down to is that you have Harry Kane. For as long you have Harry Kane and you can create chances, then he is probably going to score them. This is why I will fancy Tottenham to make the top four, regardless of how they play.”
