“I Lived Through Hell With Messi” At PSG – Neymar

Brazilian star, Neymar claimed he “lived through hell” with Lionel Messi when they were teammates at Paris Saint-Germain.

Both players left PSG this summer, with Messi signing as a free agent with Inter Miami CF on a two and half year deal. And Neymar making a €90 million transfer to Saudi Pro League outfit Al Hilal.

The 31-year-old was asked about his thoughts on witnessing his close friend Messi win the World Cup with Argentina in 2022.

In an interview that was conducted in June and aired on Sunday on Globo’s Esporte Espetacular, Neymar said: “I was very happy for the year he had. But at the same time very sad, because he lived both sides of the coin.

“He went to heaven with the Argentina team, won everything in recent years. And with Paris he lived hell, we lived through hell, both he and I.”

Following the team’s two consecutive rounds of 16 eliminations from the UEFA Champions League, PSG supporters booed and jeered the two superstars.

In his final PSG home game, Messi, who scored 21 goals and assisted on another 20 in all competitions last season, was also targeted by a portion of the crowd.

According to ESPN, Neymar stated that he considers the criticism he and Messi received was unjustified.

“We get upset, because we’re not there for nothing, we’re there to do our best, [to] be champions, try to make history,” said Neymar.

“That’s why we started playing together again, we came together there so we could make history. Unfortunately, we didn’t make it.”
