Harry Kane Transfer Discussed By Ange Postecoglou, Son Heung-Min Makes Saudi Arabia Call

Despite Bayern Munich CEO Uli Hoeness publicly declaring that the England captain wants to move to the Bundesliga, Ange Postecoglou has insisted that Harry Kane is “totally committed” to Tottenham.

Kane has traveled to Australia with the rest of the team as part of their preseason Asia-Pacific tour.

Kane and Postecoglou, who took over as Spurs manager last month, have now spoken for the first time.

According to Postecoglou, the two discussed how the team might improve following a dismal season last year.

“I had a good chat with Harry,” Postecoglou said ahead of Tottenham’s first pre-season friendly against West Ham.

“As I said before, nothing earth-shattering or defining from I guess what people are seeking. Just a good chat. I introduced myself and we spoke mainly about the club and where he thinks it’s at and where he thinks we can improve things.

“[We’ve been] training ever since, it’s been good. The discussion wasn’t really about that [Kane’s future]. It was more about the collective and what we’re doing. Harry’s the same as all the other players, you know.

“It’s not something I ask when they walk through the door, ‘Have you got a ticket or not?’ It’s just about as we go along, we’re working hard as a group. Some will be on for the whole journey and others won’t. But a lot of that gets decided along the way.

“It’s not something that I’m sitting down and demanding from people right from the outset.

“The reality is we have a bit less than a month before the season starts, the transfer window is still open for a while, so we’ll see how it all transpires. There hasn’t been a discussion [about Bayern].

“There are a lot of people that know Harry better than me but he’s not going to get fazed by anything.

“He’s here and while he’s here, he’s totally committed to what we’re doing. That’s that way I’ve seen things. In terms of me, it has zero impact on me.

“If other clubs want to talk about our contracted players, that’s more of an issue for them than us.”

Meanwhile, Tottenham have already turned down two proposals from Bayern.

Will Son Leave Tottenham?

It comes after Son Heung-min, who is one half of the most successful strike partnership in Premier League history alongside Kane, said he rejected a highly lucrative offer to join the Saudi Pro League exodus in order to “give back to the club where I belong” after a difficult campaign last season.

“Probably if I wanted to go there [Saudi Arabia], I would be out there, not here,” he said.

“Most people are going there, which is really, really interesting. Obviously money is also important, but I dream of playing in the Premier League and there’s still a lot of things to do.

“Last season, I suffered physically. This is not the Sonny I know. So I want to prove this season that I am the Sonny we all know.

“I want to prove that to myself and I want to give back to the club where I belong.”
