Harry Kane Surpasses Aguero’s Premier League Goal Record After Goal Vs Wolves

Harry Kane now holds the Premier League record for most goals scored for a single club with his 185th league strike for Spurs in the 64th minute, surpassing Sergio Aguero’s 184 goals for Man City.

The England captain scored his 185th top-flight goal for Spurs two days after celebrating the 10th anniversary of his top-flight debut with a succession of headers.

He nodded home an Ivan Perisic flick-on from a corner to earn Spurs all three points and put Antonio Conte’s side to the top of the Premier League standings.

The England captain is closing in on Alan Shearer’s all-time Premier League strike total of 260, and former Chelsea legend Cole believes Kane will surpass the iconic forward.

He said to BT Sport: ‘I think he’ll get Alan’s record. I really do. He scores all types of goals, a wonderful player.

‘We’re very lucky to have him in this country. A lot of the Tottenham players looked a bit leggy the last couple of weeks.’

How Many Premier League Goals Has Harry Kane Scored?

His first Premier League goal came against Sunderland in April 2014, and his best season was 2017-18, when he scored 30 goals in 37 games.

He has won the Golden Boot three times, one less than Arsenal star Thierry Henry, who has won the trophy four times.

Saturday’s victory was Kane’s 250th goal for Spurs, bringing him within 16 goals of Jimmy Greaves’ all-time record.

Kane began the season with 183 league goals, along with Wayne Rooney, before passing Aguero with a goal in Tottenham’s 2-2 draw with Chelsea last Sunday.

During the 2012-13 Premier League season, the 29-year-old played three times for Norwich City but did not score.

Kane’s favourite opponents have been Leicester City, with the striker scoring 17 goals in 14 outings against the Foxes, as well as 13 against Everton and north London rivals Arsenal.

Brentford are the only Premier League team he hasn’t scored against, with the England skipper failing to score in two games against Thomas Frank’s side last season.

Spurs’ 1,000th Premier League goal came on Saturday afternoon, making them just the fifth team to do it – and it’s perhaps fitting that Kane was the one to assist them get there.
