Gabriel Jesus Speaks Out On Brazil Snub Despite Great Arsenal Start

In-form Arsenal frontman Gabriel Jesus has spoken out over his absence from Tite’s latest Brazil national team selection.

The Brazilian has had a fantastic start to the season, recording four goals and three assists in his first seven appearances as a Gunner.

However, despite his performance, he was left off of Brazil’s squad for their forthcoming friendlies against Ghana and Tunisia.

Jesus is just one of many forward options Brazil has available before the World Cup. He has previously earned 56 caps for Brazil and scored 19 goals.

Richarlison, Roberto Firmino, and Flamengo’s Pedro, all of whom are capable of leading the line, were however chosen for the friendlies over Jesus.

What Did Gabriel Jesus Say?

Jesus has now affirmed that he has no hard feelings towards Tite while pledging to keep trying to force his way into the coach’s plans.

“I respect the coach’s decision a lot, I respect Tite, the entire staff, the entire commission. As I said, I’m Brazilian, I’ll always root for the team.

“And I also respect the other players, who have a lot of quality. I’ll keep doing my best to have the opportunity again,” he told ESPN Brazil.

Arsenal and Jesus return to action in the North London derby on Saturday, October 1.
