Gabriel Jesus Reacts To His Brazil Call-Up For World Cup

Gabriel Jesus of Arsenal was included in Tite’s final Brazil World Cup roster following an encouraging start to life at Arsenal following his summer transfer from Manchester City.

The 25-year-old has been joined in the team by fellow attacker Gabriel Martinelli. However, defender Gabriel Magalhaes has been left out.

All three players were left out of Brazil’s squad for the September international break, but Martinelli and Jesus’ recent strong performances have convinced Brazil to invite them to Qatar, where they will play in Group G alongside Serbia, Switzerland, and Cameroon.

Jesus moved to Arsenal from Manchester City for £45million over the summer and became a hugely important part of Mikel Arteta’s title-challenging side.

Meanwhile, Martinelli has exceeded all expectations placed on him at the start of the season, nailing down a consistent spot on the left of Arsenal’s attack.

The forward has led the Gunners attack and remains integral to most of their spectacular attacking play despite his nine-game goal drought.

This was the case in Arsenal’s superb London derby victory over Chelsea on Sunday.

Jesus responded to being called up by creating a 27-second video on YouTube celebrating his selection to the Brazil team.

The movie includes many clips of him performing for his country.

Jesus has made 56 senior appearances for Brazil, scoring 19 goals in the process, with his last appearance coming in the summer of 2022 in the friendly victory over Japan.
