Frankfurt braced for Paciencia interest

Eintracht Frankfurt are set to face a fight to keep hold of forward Goncalo Paciencia in the January transfer window with Everton heavily linked. The Premier League outfit’s manager Marco Silva is looking to bolster his forward line in the New Year as they have struggled for goals so far this term, with 13 scored from 12 games.
Cenk Tosun, Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Moise Kean have all failed to find consistency in front of goal and Silva is not keen on using Richarlison through the middle given his effectiveness from the wider areas.
As a result the Toffees have been scouring the market to find a new striker to help fire them up the Premier League and it appears that Paciencia is their top target.
The 25-year-old Portugal international has already scored six goals in Frankfurt’s opening 11 Bundesliga matches this season and chipped in with two assists.
Paciencia, who joined from Porto in summer 2018, is under contract until summer 2022 and Frankfurt will not allow him to depart without a battle.
Reports claim Everton’s director of football Marcel Brands is already in talks with Frankfurt officials and is looking to secure a deal for around €15million.
However, Die Adler are looking at closer to €20m before they will contemplate a sale which should not be out of reach for the Toffees.
Frankfurt sold Sebastien Haller to West Ham in the summer so to lose another key striker will be a big blow as they currently sit ninth in the Bundesliga table, but just two points off the top six.
