Manchester United midfielder Mason Mount has reportedly emerged as a transfer target for former manager Ruben Amorim, who is keen to reunite with the England international at AC Milan this summer.
Amorim, who left Old Trafford earlier this year after a disappointing spell in charge, is believed to have identified Mount as one of his priority signings ahead of his first season in Italy.

According to reports, the Portuguese coach remains a strong admirer of the midfielder, who enjoyed some of his best football under his management despite United’s struggles.
Michael Carrick, now permanently in charge after guiding the Red Devils back into the Champions League with a third-place Premier League finish, is expected to oversee another squad rebuild before the new campaign begins.

Reports suggest AC Milan could attempt to sign Mount for around £21.6 million, significantly less than the £55 million Manchester United paid Chelsea to secure his services in 2023.
Although injuries and inconsistent form have limited his impact at Old Trafford, Mount has still made 72 appearances for the club, scoring seven goals and providing two assists across all competitions.
The 27-year-old was one of the few players who appeared to thrive under Amorim’s tactical approach, earning regular starts and producing encouraging performances before the Portuguese coach’s departure, reports Shoot.
Whether United would be willing to sanction the sale remains unclear, especially with Carrick preparing for a season that includes Champions League football. However, if Milan submit an official offer close to the reported valuation, the Red Devils could face a difficult decision over the future of one of their most expensive recent signings.
