FIFA has sparked major backlash after increasing the highest-priced ticket for the 2026 World Cup final to a staggering $10,990 during the latest ticket sales relaunch.
The final, scheduled for July 19 at MetLife Stadium, had previously been priced at $8,680 following the tournament draw in December.

However, supporters returning to the ticket portal this week discovered another steep rise across multiple categories.
Category 2 tickets for the final have now jumped to $7,380, while Category 3 seats are listed at $5,785.
The latest price increases have intensified frustration among supporters already concerned about affordability ahead of the tournament.
Fans Frustrated By Sales Chaos
The ticket relaunch was also overshadowed by technical issues, with many users facing long waits and confusion while trying to access available matches.
Only a small number of fixtures were made available, with tickets listed for just 17 of the 72 group-stage matches and none for the knockout rounds.
FIFA is using dynamic pricing for the first-ever 48-team World Cup, which will be hosted across the United States, Mexico and Canada, reports News CGTN.
Prices also rose for host nation openers, including United States men’s national soccer team, Mexico national football team and Canada men’s national soccer team matches.
FIFA confirmed more tickets will be released in stages, but fan groups have already voiced anger over soaring prices and growing concerns about accessibility for ordinary supporters.
