Everton plot fresh £10m bid for Ademola Lookman

Everton are likely to increase their bid for Charlton Athletic striker Ademola Lookman after the League One club rejected their latest £7m offer, according to reports.

Lookman, 19, has caught the attention of several Premier League clubs, with Manchester City, Arsenal and Liverpool all said to be keeping an eye on the situation.

The Toffees are considering meeting the Addicks’ £10m valuation as they look to ward off interest from other clubs, according to reports in the Mirror, who say the Merseyside outfit have now had a previous verbal offer of £7m rejected.

The player was watched by local rivals Liverpool, as well as City and Arsenal, last weekend in the 3-1 FA Cup win over Scunthorpe, when Lookman scored a brace, the news outlet also say.

He currently has eight goals in 39 league games for the club and has already started on his international journey with five caps for the under-19s and two for the under-20s.

There is a suggestion in some places that the player may be ready to move given the unpredictable events going on at The Valley.

This follows sacking of Russell Slade earlier this week and the continued protests from fans towards owner Roland Duchatelet and his board.
