Erik ten Hag Blocked Man Utd  Star From Taking Specific Penalty In Brighton’s FA Cup Victory

On Sunday night, Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag led his team to an FA Cup semi-final victory over Brighton.

Wout Weghorst of Manchester United has stated that Erik ten Hag prevented him from taking an earlier penalty in his team’s FA Cup triumph over Brighton on Sunday. Following a dramatic shootout at Wembley, the Red Devils advanced to the competition’s final. And they’re now just one win away from completing a spectacular cup double, which looked unthinkable at the start of the season.

The dreadful performance in Spain was not United’s first disaster this season, following a four-goal setback at Brentford, a 6-3 defeat at Manchester City, and, most memorably, a seven-goal defeat at Anfield. They have, however, bounced back on each occasion, and the same was true on Sunday as they advanced to their second domestic cup final of the season.

“On Thursday, I saw a team I didn’t recognize, but today we went back to normal,” Ten Hag told BBC Sport after the game on Sunday. “I saw determination and resilience.” We competed in every combat and fought for every yard. We stood a strong chance.”

The defeat in Seville was especially difficult for goalkeeper David de Gea, who unintentionally assisted on all three of Sevilla’s goals. Nonetheless, he answered against Brighton by keeping a clean sheet to help United advance.

“I was very impressed with him,” Ten Hag said of his goalkeeper. “He made some brilliant saves. It hurt when he made mistakes on Thursday. Often when you make mistakes as a keeper you get punished. We let him down, we didn’t fight back for him. We bounced back today though.”
