Enzo Breaks Silence On Real Madrid Transfer Rumours

Enzo Fernandez maintains that no negotiations have taken place over a summer departure from Chelsea despite being linked to a lucrative transfer to Real Madrid.

The 25-year-old, who joined the Blues in January 2023 for an astounding £106.8 from Benfica, is a vital member of the team.

The 38-cap Argentina international scored a career-high 12 goals in 46 games this season after playing in 53 games in all competitions the previous season.

Fernandez has a 2032 contract with Stamford Bridge, but remarks he made this month have raised concerns about his future.

Paris Saint-Germain easily eliminated Chelsea from the Champions League, with the French team winning 8-2 on aggregate. Fernandez did not confirm that he will remain with the team for the upcoming campaign.

Asked that question, he said: “I don’t know. Right now I’m focused on here, then there’s the World Cup, and we’ll see.”

The midfield player has now discussed his future once more. He has been mentioned as a possible addition to Real Madrid, while PSG have also been touted to a move.

When asked about his future, Fernandez, who is currently representing Argentina in pre-World Cup friendlies against Mauritania and Zambia, rejected the notion that he is already negotiating a transfer.

“There are no talks,” he told ESPN Argentina. “Right now I’m focused on Chelsea, we’ll see after the World Cup.”
