Arsenal are nearing completion of Piero Hincapie’s transfer from Bayer Leverkusen on deadline day, according to GIVEMESPORT senior writer Fabrizio Romano.
The Emirates are apparently exchanging documents with Leverkusen in preparation for the ‘elite’ Ecuadorian defender’s arrival, which is expected to be revealed within the next few hours.
Hincapie has already travelled to London after being left on the bench for Leverkusen’s 3-3 draw at Werder Bremen.
Romano, writing on X, stated that Arsenal and Leverkusen are exchanging documents for Hincapie’s transfer, with the Ecuadorian defender already in London on deadline day.

Hincapie is likely to become Arsenal’s eighth acquisition of a busy summer that has seen the club spend about £250 million on new players.
The Ecuadorian defender, who joined Leverkusen from Argentine club CA Talleres in 2021, made 116 games in Germany and scored five goals.
Hincapie helped Leverkusen win the league and cup double in 2022/23 under manager Xabi Alonso, and he now appears to be on his way out, joining the likes of Florian Wirtz, Jeremie Frimpong, and Granit Xhaka in the summer.
