De Rossi Set To Be Appointed By Roma As Mourinho’s Successor

According to several Italian sources, Daniele De Rossi, a club legend, will take José Mourinho’s place at Roma. “The announcement is the only thing missing,” according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.

According to Football Italia, Two days after suffering 3-1 setback to Milan in Serie and one week following 1-0 loss to city rivals Lazio in the Coppa Italia, Roma announced Mourinho’s dismissal on Tuesday morning.

“More updates on the new First Team coaching staff will follow imminently,” stated the Giallorossi.

Numerous Italian sources, such as Gazzetta and Fabrizio Romano, claim that De Rossi is the chosen Mourinho replacement at the Stadio Olimpico.

After graduating from the club’s academy and making 616 senior appearances for the Giallorossi, the 2006 Italy World Cup winner is club legend.

De Rossi has reportedly accepted Roma’s offer, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, and the Giallorossi will shortly name him as their new head coach.

The pink paper stated, “The announcement is the only item missing.”

Throughout his coaching career, De Rossi has only managed one professional team. He served as Roberto Mancini’s assistant at Euro 2020.

He was hired by SPAL in October 2022, but after only three of his seventeen games, he was fired in February 2023.

Gazzetta claims that De Rossi was also selected by the Roma owners due to his strong relationship with the team and the supporters, the majority of whom firmly supported Mourinho.
