De Bruyne Cites Biggest difference Between Man City & Liverpool

Kevin De Bruyne believes the biggest difference between Man City and Liverpool is the fact that Reds are more of a “up-and-down team.”

When it comes to domestic and European titles, two Premier League heavyweights have been competing for several years.

Both have had significant success in the English Premier League and cup competitions, but Man City have been the more consistent, as Pep Guardiola’s team have been crowned champions four times in the last five years, while Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool have only one.

De Bruyne has told Sky Sports what differentiates the two sides ahead of their rematch at Anfield on Sunday: “They are more of an up-and-down team and we are a team who has more control of the game, so if you can control that style of play then maybe you have more of a chance.”

“I expect them to be at the best Liverpool possible,” the Belgium international midfielder added.

Obviously they lost some points but they are still Liverpool and I expect them to be good, that’s the only way I see it. I like big games, I like good atmospheres. It’s a game like any other, obviously, it’s hard playing away at a top-six team always, I think the last few years we’ve done well.”

Man City enters their clash with Liverpool unblemished in the 2022-23 season, with a 23-point haul through nine Premier League games putting them second in the table. The Reds, on the other hand, are wallowing in 10th place after only two wins and 10 points from eight games.

The Blues have earned four points from their last two journeys to Anfield, but they did lose 3-1 in their most recent meeting with Liverpool, which came in the traditional Community Shield curtain-raiser at the start of the current season.
