Conte reveals what Kante needs to do to become a ‘more complete player’

Antonio Conte reveals N’Golo Kante is working on his distribution to become a ‘more complete player’ for Chelsea.

The 25-year-old has been the star in midfield since his £32 million arrival from Leicester City last summer and has played a huge part in the club’s push for the Premier League title.

Kante’s incredible work rate and ability to break up play has received huge praise this season, but Conte has revealed that the France international is improving his passing range in order to improve his game.

‘We are working on some aspects with N’Golo to improve him, such as his forward passing,’ said the Chelsea manager.

‘He can improve that. We are hoping to make him a more complete player.

‘But we are talking of a great player already. And I don’t want to stop him running.

‘In my career, Giovanni Trapattoni tried to prevent me from doing that during training. He told me to go into the changing room because I had to run during games.

‘I wasn’t happy about this. I wanted to stay with my team-mates. I would never tell N’Golo to go inside.

‘He always puts in 100 per cent during matches and also 100 per cent during training.’

Chelsea beat Manchester United 1-0 in their FA Cup quarter-final at Stamford Bridge, with N’Golo Kanté standing out.
