Chelsea ‘Planning Three More Big-Money Signings In January’

Chelsea are reportedly ready to spend at least another £100m on three more high-profile signings in the January transfer window.

Since their takeover was completed at the end of May, the Blues hierarchy, led by co-owner Todd Boehly, has spent unprecedented amounts of money.

Chelsea already has spent close to £150m by the midway point point of the season after spending about £273m on several additions in the summer.

Following the signings of David Datro Fofana, Andrey Santos, and Benoit Badiashile, it was announced on Sunday that the West Londoners had completed the £88m signing of Shakhtar Donetsk winger Mykhaylo Mudryk.

With Chelsea now possessing a heavily inflated squad, it is expected that solutions for a number of players currently in the first-team group will be found.

However, according to Football Insider, Chelsea’s hierarchy and recruitment team have no plans to cut spending.

According to the report, the club plans to add three more players to Graham Potter’s squad over the next two weeks.

Despite the fact that a deal for Benfica’s Enzo Fernandez now appears unlikely, Chelsea have been heavily linked to a number of other players.

The most speculation surrounds their efforts to sign PSV Eindhoven winger Noni Madueke, with talks already taking place between the parties involved.

Chelsea are also said to be in talks with Borussia Monchengladbach attacker Marcus Thuram, who has less than six months left on his contract.

Potter’s team returned to winning ways on Sunday, defeating Crystal Palace 1-0 in the Premier League.

Chelsea remain in 10th place in the standings, but they have cut the gap to fifth-placed Tottenham Hotspur to five points.
