Chelsea In Contention To Sign Towering Midfielder

Chelsea are reportedly eyeing up a move for Lazio midfielder, Sergej Milinkovic-Savic in the summer transfer window.

The Blues have prioritized player sales over their own signings in recent weeks.

Mateo Kovacic (Manchester City), N’Golo Kante (Al Ittihad), Mason Mount (Man Utd), Ruben Loftus-Cheek (AC Milan), Kai Havertz (Arsenal) and Tiemoue Bakayoko (released) are just a few of the players that have left Stamford Bridge.

According to teamTALK, the west London club are considering loan offers for young prodigy, Carney Chukwuemeka this summer.

Enzo Fernandez appears to be the only midfielder who can state for sure that he will be at Chelsea when the new season begins as things currently stand.

Brighton midfielder, Moises Caicedo and Southampton’s Romeo Lavia are two players they have been looking to bring to the department. But Milinkovic-Savic is a well-known alternative they could now consider.

According to a Rome-based publication Il Tempo, Chelsea are one of the potential destinations for the Serbian international this summer. He has already entered the final year of his contract with Lazio.

Milinkovic-Savic, who has been with Lazio since his arrival from Genk in 2015, has a €40 million (£34 million) price tag in order to be sold. At the very least, the Rome-based club might accept a bid of €30 million (£25.7 million), but not less.

Although it hasn’t been decided if he will stay or not. His agent is pitching him to various clubs. Mateja Kezman, a former Chelsea player, happens to be that agent.

Manchester United are also in the hunt to sign the midfielder. The Red Devils have been credited with interest in him for some number of years. Now, it has been reported that the interest has been rekindled.
