Chelsea ‘Considering’ Move For Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

Chelsea are said to be interested in signing Barcelona attacker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

The Blues are presently looking for a new centre-forward after loaning Romelu Lukaku back to Inter Milan for the 2022-23 season.

Cristiano Ronaldo have been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge, but Thomas Tuchel’s team are said to have rejected the opportunity to bring the Portugal international to the club.

According to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Aubameyang has emerged as a possible target for Chelsea, with the Blues exploring a bid to bring him back to the Premier League.

Tuchel’s team has already held negotiations with the forward’s representatives, according to Romano, but the Premier League club are yet to make a formal offer for the 33-year-old.

Aubameyang featured in the Premier League for Arsenal between 2018 and 2022, netting 92 goals in 163 matches.

The forwards scored 22 Premier League goals for the North London club in each of the 2018-19 and 2019-20 seasons, but he only managed 10 in 2020-21, while a poor first half of the 2021-22 campaign saw him score just four times.

Following the dissolution of his relationship with Arsenal, Aubameyang was granted a free move to Barcelona in February, where he signed a contract until June 2025.

The former Gabonese international shone for the Catalan giants in the second half of the season, scoring 13 goals and earning one assist in 23 games.

However, with the arrival of Robert Lewandowski, Aubameyang’s starting spot at Camp Nou is now under threat, sparking speculations that he could be on the move again this summer.
