Cardiff City hope to shock all involved in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday night, but they will need to do so without one of their most important players.
The League One team will meet Chelsea at Cardiff City Stadium in the quarterfinals.
The only non-Premier League team remaining in the draw is Cardiff, and they will need Omari Kellyman’s help to get to the semi-finals.
Kellyman is on loan from Chelsea this season, so the chance to play for the Bluebirds has been blocked.

Chelsea To Prevent Cardiff From Fielding Kellyman Against Them
However, according to the Daily Mail, Chelsea have prevented their opponents from doing so.
After the quarterfinal draw was announced last month, Cardiff made a tentative verbal request regarding Kellyman’s availability without receiving formal consent from Chelsea.
This is not the first time the Blues have adopted this position. In 2022, they turned down a similar request from Crystal Palace to let Conor Gallagher play against them.
But in 2018, they gave Derby County an exceptional permission to allow Mason Mount and Fikayo Tomori play against them.
Kellyman signed a six-year contract with Chelsea after leaving Aston Villa for £19 million in June 2024.
He suffered many hamstring problems during his first season at the club, and in March he had surgery to fix the problem.
The 20-year-old, who is now fit again, has made 17 appearances for Cardiff and scored twice, including their first goal in Saturday’s 4-3 victory over Doncaster Rovers.
