Cech enduring the worst clean sheet run of his career

Arsenal‘s 2-1 defeat to Manchester City on Sunday was their second defeat in a row which is the first time that has happened in the Premier League this season.

The Gunners went ahead in both of their defeats to Everton and Man City in the first half of those games, only to be pinned back and defeated in the second 45 minutes on both occasions.

On Sunday, Pep Guardiola’s side got hold of the ball almost immediately in the second half and dominated until they found themselves in the lead, before playing the game out with plenty of composure.

It was another poor result for the Gunners and, something that went under the radar, was their poor defensive record as Petr Cech has now failed to keep a clean sheet in his last eight games – the worst run of his career.

Cech’s last clean sheet for the Gunners came in their goalless draw with Middlesbrough in October and he has since conceded goals against Sunderland, Bournemouth, West Ham and Stoke City – as well as Tottenham and Manchester United.
