Carragher Advises Arsenal, Man United Not To Sign Everton Star

Jamie Carragher has reportedly warned Arsenal, Manchester United and Chelsea to back off from pursuing a deal to sign Everton midfielder, Amadou Onana this summer.

A new midfielder is probably going to be high on United’s list of priorities in the upcoming months, which is why they contemplated a move for the Belgium international last summer.

It was reported that Chelsea had expressed interest in the 22-year-old in January. And that Arsenal had begun negotiations with Everton about a deal.

In the end, the Toffees’ valuation of more than £50 million discouraged both London clubs from making any deals during the league’s quiet January transfer window.

Due to Everton’s mounting financial difficulties, other league teams may start vying for their valuable assets, including Jarrad Branthwaite, who is anticipated to draw significant transfer interest.

According to The Metro, following a terrible night at the office, in which Everton lost to Chelsea 6-0 on Monday, former Liverpool defender Carragher stated he is not persuaded by Onana, claiming that all he has ever seen him do is ‘try lift the crowd.’

“I must say this, Onana is a player who Everton may have to sell with the situation that they find themselves in financially,’ Carragher told Sky Sports.

“He came in with a huge reputation. Frank Lampard brought him in, he looks the part, did really well I think for Belgium at Wembley and there was talk of him going to other big clubs.

“I don’t see it. I haven’t since he’s been there. The only thing I have seen him do is try to lift the crowd, that is all I ever see him do when he plays for Everton.”
