Carlo Ancelotti: No More Signings This Season

Carlo Ancelotti has stated that Real Madrid would not add another player before the 2022/23 season.

Los Blancos have only signed two players this summer, with Antonio Rudiger joining on a free transfer and Aurelien Tchouameni joining from Monaco.

Carlo Ancelotti believes Real Madrid do not need to strengthen their roster any further. Despite the losses of Luka Jovic, Marcelo, Gareth Bale, and Isco.

“I can’t talk about signings, but I’ve already said that it’s all over,” Ancelotti told a press conference.

“We’re not going to sign anyone. We’re fine as we are.”

Ancelotti went on to laud both Rudiger and Tchouameni, emphasizing that the US trip will help them adjust to their new team.

“The signings bring great quality to the squad,” added Ancelotti.

“They are, in their positions, the best we could find on the market. Rudiger is a great centre-back and Tchouameni [is great] too. He is very young and has a lot of potential.

“He’s already an international with France. We’re taking advantage of this tour to help them adapt to the squad we have.”

The Real Madrid coach also stated that he is ready to explore in using Eden Hazard as a false no.9 when Karim Benzema requires rest.

Carlo Ancelotti  stated “We have a lot of options for that position,”

“Benzema is first choice but we have to understand that it will be a strange, different season, with the World Cup in between and we have to look at different options.

“My idea is to try to see Eden in that position. Given the quality that Eden has and his qualities, it could be good for us to try him there. It’s a similar case to [Marco] Asensio.”

Real Madrid can’t be satisfied with their recent LaLiga and Champions League victories, either. Ancelotti clarified: “Winning gives me a lot of happiness so I want to keep this moment of happiness. We’d like to repeat this season what we did last season. We are looking to adapt new players into our philosophy. We have room to improve and do better compared to last season. We have more confident and knowledge.”
