Buruj Academy test might against 36 Lions ahead England tour

Buruj Sports Academy of Ikorodu will face Lagos Metro League side 36 Lions FC in a friendly match at the Agege Stadium on Friday morning.

The Chief Executive Officer of Buruj Salawudeen Waheed said the friendly is primarily to keep his players in shape ahead of their proposed trip to the United Kingdom for camping, trials and friendlies against English academies.

“We’re preparing for another UK trip after the one in August and a game against 36 Lions is always good for the players to stay sharp and test themselves,” Waheed said.
“We’re taking another set of players for trials to Europe and they are eager to test themselves against a team as good as 36 Lions.”
The teams played a 1-1 draw when they met in a friendly earlier this year, but 36 Lions boss, Hajji Gafar, says the result will be different this time.

“We’re beating Buruj in Agege this time, no escape for them, ” Gafar said. “Seriously though, it’s always a pleasure playing against the academy; they are full of very talented young players.”

One of Buruj big sponsors, Salawu Abdul-Hamed, will be in attendance to witness the progress the academy is making.

Buruj CEO Waheed added that his thriving academy is always on the lookout for new talent.

He said: “We always have room for new talented players to give opportunities with our European partners who have been happy with our services since we started working with them.”
