Bruno Fernandes Accepts Erik Ten Hag Discipline Strategy

Bruno Fernandes claims he and his Man Utd teammates have “no problems” with their revitalized, disciplined strategy under new manager Erik ten Hag, and the Portuguese playmaker suggests that the effects are already evident to supporters and rivals.

Erik Ten Hag took over as Man Utd head coach at the conclusion of the difficult 2021–22 season, and he immediately began reshaping the Red Devils into his own vision, regardless of the lack of some of the transfer targets the former Ajax manager had planned to sign.

However, under his leadership, Man Utd has responded in a positive way throughout the preseason, winning three of their first three games on the current tour. Fernandes has identified a more focused off-field strategy as essential to the better mindset in the team.

What Is Bruno Fernandes’ View Of Ten Hag’s Strategies?

The Portugal international stated that Erik Ten Hag ran a better campaign than predecessors Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Ralf Rangnick, with sanctions given out for players showing up late to team meetings and events, ahead of Saturday’s final match in Australia against Aston Villa in Perth.

“We missed that for a while and discipline is important,” he stated. “Discipline is not only the way you play, the position that you have, what you have to do, it’s also off the pitch. Don’t be late for the meetings, don’t be late for the meals.

“That’s really important because if everyone is on time and someone comes late, he should be punished. That’s really good that he’s doing that and amazing, because I like to be on time, so I won’t have problems with that.”

What Does Bruno Fernandes Believe Ronaldo’s Future Holds?

One significant absence from Erik Ten Hag’s side as they travel the southern hemisphere has been striker Cristiano Ronaldo, who withdrew from the tour stating family concerns, amid speculations he is pushing for a move away from the club this summer.

However, Bruno Fernandes has refused to respond on the future of his club and country teammate, adding:

“I don’t want to be involved in that. Obviously we have to respect the decision of everyone. I don’t know what Cristiano said to the club, to the manager, but we have to respect his space.

“The only thing I asked Cristiano, when he didn’t turn up, was if everything was OK with the family. He told me what was going on, that’s it and nothing more.”
