Berge open to dream Reds switch

Genk midfielder Sander Berge has admitted it would be a dream come true to complete a move to Liverpool. The Norway international has earned interest in his services after impressing in both the Belgian top flight and the Champions League this season.
Liverpool, who currently hold an eight-point lead at the top of the Premier League table, are thought to be one of the frontrunners to land the playmaker, while Serie A outfit Napoli are also believed to be interested in the Norwegian.
The 21-year-old appears to have set his heart on a future move to Anfield and Berge has revealed it would be a dream transfer to Merseyside if it went through. “Playing at Anfield is a dream for everyone in the world, and not least for Norwegians,” Berge said to TV2. “Liverpool are the best team [at the moment] and have the most fans. So I could certainly like to play at Anfield as often as possible.”
Reports have suggested £18million would be enough to secure the services of Berge, while Genk sporting director Dimitri De Conde has added further fuel to the fire by suggesting the midfielder could be on his way out of the club in the future.
Liverpool kept their powder dry in the last transfer market over the summer, with no big names making the switch to Anfield despite links.
With the Reds firmly in the driving seat for the Premier League title race, it remains to be seen whether they will once again have a quiet transfer window in January, or strengthen in a bid to make sure they get over the line.
Liverpool are back in action after the international break on November 23 when they make the trip to Selhurst Park to face Roy Hodgson’s Crystal Palace.
