Bayern Sporting Director On Kane Transfer Rumors

Bayern Munich boss, Hasan Salihamidzic, made it clear that Tottenham striker Harry Kane is not on the club’s target list.

The England international was favored to join Bayern to fill the vacuum left by Robert Lewandowski’s move to Barcelona.

Salihamidzic has dispelled all rumors that Bayern Munich was interested in signing Kane

What did Salihamidzic say regarding Kane?

The prolific forward’s deal with Tottenham expires in July of 2024, and the London club has yet to offer Kane a new deal. Bayern will not pursue the attacker, though, as they attempt to follow Manchester City and Liverpool, who frequently play without a proper No. 9.

Salihamidzic told Suddeutsche Zeitung, “These are rumours. We’re going a different way for now. Manchester City and Liverpool have been successful for years without a nine.”

Lewandowski, the Polish international who forced a transfer from the Allianz Arena to Barcelona, was the talisman of the defending Bundesliga winners, but Salihamidzic thinks they have enough attacking weapons to cover his absence.

How Has Bayern’s Transfer Window Been?

In addition to locking down Serge Gnabry with a contract extension, Bayern secured Sadio Mane from Liverpool for a steal of a price of €33.5 million (£39 million/$40 million).

“We could substitute four players of almost the same quality for four positions. So much offensive quality is rare in Europe. It’s now the job of the coach and his team to moderate that,” Salihamidzic noted.

Bayern has made significant investments and spent a lot of money on quality players to the team during the transfer window this summer.

With more than €137.5 million in transfer fees, they have signed right-back Nousair Mazraoui from Ajax, midfielder Ryan Gravenberch, Matthijs de Light from Juventus, Mathys Tel from Rennes.
