Bayer Leverkusen Willing To Sign Granit Xhaka

German outfit, Bayer Leverkusen are allegedly interested in signing Arsenal midfielder, Granit Xhaka ahead of the upcoming summer transfer window.

The Mirror claimed that Alonso and Leverkusen intend to give Xhaka the option to leave the Emirates Stadium and play football once more in Germany.

Xhaka’s performances for Borussia Monchengladbach earned him a £35 million transfer to Arsenal in 2016. But he has often struggled to maintain that level in North London.

The Swiss international has had his greatest season for the Gunners thus far. Contributing significantly to the team’s drive for the Premier League crown.

Mikel Arteta will be eager to keep Xhaka past the 2022–2023 season after the 30-year-old’s remarkable five goals and seven assists.

Nevertheless, Xhaka’s current contract has little over 14 months left. And Arsenal have the option to extend it by a further 12 months.

According to the report, Xhaka will be given the freedom to decide for himself, his future because of the respect he commands off the pitch activities.

Despite having solid options in Jorginho, Thomas Partey, and Martin Odegaard, Arsenal are still looking for at least one new face to provide back-up for the trio.
