Barcelona Youngster Set To Sign New Five-Year Contract

Barcelona are reportedly believed to have devised a strategy for Lamine Yamal’s future, with the teenager set to sign a long-term deal next week.

According to Mundo Deportivo, Lamine Yamal will sign a five-year contract at the Camp Nou on Thursday, the same day he turns 16 years old.

The teenager will then participate in Barca’s preseason along with many other young players and also stay with the first-team squad for the upcoming campaign. Barcelona also wants him to play frequently for Rafa Marquez’s Barca Atletic side, so he’ll likely split his time between the two squads.

Meanwhile, Barcelona boss Xavi Hernandez, has already said as much at the end of last season when asked about the highly rated youngster.

“The idea is for Lamine Yamal to be between Barça Atlètic and the first team because he can help us a lot,” he told reporters at a press conference last month.

There’s no doubt that Yamal is one of the brightest talents on Barca’s books right now.

Now it looks like Barcelona fans may get plenty of chances to see him in action for the club next season.
