Barcelona Still Unable To Sign New Players With La Liga

Barcelona are reportedly still unable to sign new players to their La Liga team ahead of the upcoming season.

The Catalan giants have managed to sign up to five high-profile players in spite of their well-known financial problems.

Andreas Christensen, Franck Kessie, Raphinha, Robert Lewandowski, and Jules Kounde have all joined Camp Nou, with president Joan Laporta eager to compete with Real Madrid for the La Liga title.

Why Can’t Barcelona Register New Signings?

Laporta and other club executives believe they have taken the necessary steps to officially add their new signings to their domestic squad according to The Guardian.

La Liga, on the other hand, are reported to have a different opinion, with Cadena Cope claiming that some of the money involved in meeting regulations was paid for by Barcelona.

Even while Barcelona is in a better position, at least in the medium term, having sold off percentages of future broadcast rights, the unresolved issue is keeping them from concluding their plans.

As of right now, it is uncertain whether Barcelona will be able to make progress throughout this week leading to Saturday’s La Liga opening against Rayo Vallecano.

The issues would have been rectified if Manchester United or another club had completed a transfer for Frenkie de Jong, one of the club’s most valuable assets and earning one of the highest earnings.

However, it seems more likely that the Netherlands international will remain at the club, necessitating action in other areas of the squad.

Memphis Depay’s future is being discussed, with the possibility of him leaving on a free transfer depending on his ability to sign with another club of his choice.
