According to Barca Universal, Barcelona have set their sights on Liverpool maestro Thiago Alcantara and Arsenal midfielder Jorginho as potential signings to bolster the defensive midfield position next season.
Jorginho has been a player manager Xavi Hernandez has been interested in for some time. The seasoned Italian international has a track record of success at the highest level, having played for Chelsea and Italy.
The midfielder joined Arsenal in January this year. And since then, his playing time at the Emirates has decreased. Additionally, as his contract is up at the end of the current campaign, he might be available for nothing.
The Laliga defending champions are familiar with Thiago as a player. The midfielder is a graduate of the La Masia youth system. He made 100 starts for the first team before moving on to Bayern Munich, where he had great success.
