Barcelona have reportedly been linked to a wide range of names at this time of year, and in addition to signings, there is a lot of speculation around sales.
Marc-Andre ter Stegen is one of the players Barcelona will attempt to let go of this summer. Due to injuries, the 33-year-old skipper has missed the majority of the season while on loan at Girona.
He went on loan in the hopes of gaining playing time to establish himself as Germany’s top player at the World Cup. He is expected to return in May.
Barcelona Willing To Let Ter Stegen Leave
The former Bayer Leverkusen goalkeeper’s future in Spanish football may be partially determined by his recovery.
According to Sport as reported by Football Espana, Barcelona hope he can return to action before the season ends, which would enable them sell him this summer.
The Blaugrana would be much happier if he featured in the World Cup.
After Joan Garcia signed last summer, the Catalan giants opened the door to a move for ter Stegen, but they were cautious not to try to push the matter.

The club have already contacted Alex Remiro of Real Sociedad as a prospective backup for Garcia, and the goal is to get rid of Stegen if at all feasible. Wojciech Szczesny’s continuity is also in question.
With two years remaining on his contract, Ter Stegen is among the Barcelona team’s biggest earners. It might be challenging to find a team willing to sign him given his age, injury history, and pay.
He also has an extra incentive to finish out his contract at the club because his kids have settled in the Catalan city.
